Tao Bak emigrated to New Zealand from Holland when he was eight and moved to Australia when he was ten. He attended Waldorf-Steiner schools in all three countries. For the past twenty years Tao has worked in Further and Higher education, mainly in the field of academic literacy and support. He has published on the development of academic literacy in tertiary contexts, the history of alternative medicine and the history of Steiner education in Victoria – the topic of his PhD. Currently an Academic Language and Learning Adviser at Deakin University, Tao lives and works on the land of the Wurundjeri of the Kulin nation.
