Tao Bak attended Waldorf-Steiner schools in the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Australia. Pursuing studies in History and Philosophy of Science (MA, University of Melbourne) as well as Applied Linguistics (MAPPLing, University of Southern Queensland) he has worked and taught in Further Education and Higher education in areas relating to academic literacy and academic support. He is completing a PhD through Victoria University examining the history of Steiner education in Australia.
Tao currently lives in Melbourne and works in academic student and peer support at Deakin University. His interests include the history for alternative traditions, and the emerging slow education movement. A musician in his spare time, he writes and performs his songs when he can. The father of two active daughters, he is also currently the President of Synchronised Swimming Victoria. He is currently treasurer of the Ileen Macpherson Trust.
